The actor Brad Pitt, 58, filed a petition and accused his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, 47, "sought to inflict harm on" the reputation of wine business. The wine business was earlier co-owned by them but after separation her half sold to a stranger.
Pitt's legal team writes in the documents which were filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court, that Miraval became multimillion-dollar global business due to efforts of Pitt and Jolie contributed "nothing to Miraval's success."
According to filing, Jolie planned to sell her interest in October to Tenute del Mondo,
"bent on taking control of Miraval indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group."
"Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt's contractual rights,"
Pitt's lawsuit claimed that Jolie's business Nouvel owed his company Mondo Bongo the right of first refusal, and the sale infringed on that right.
"confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise. Cutthroat business tactics and dubious professional associations, jeopardizes the reputation of the brand Pitt so carefully built. Jolie has sought to force Pitt into partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions."
