Debbie isn't ready to give up her connection with Oussama just yet, but she told her son, Julien, about it on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
Debbie was beginning to see that her overprotective son was correct after an awful talk with boyfriend Oussama, who said he's been hoping their connection will help him acquire a U.S. green card.
On Sunday night's episode, when Debbie filled Julien in on all of the drama she'd been through since moving to Morocco to be with Oussama, the police officer refused to tell his mother "I told you so" — despite the fact that he'd warned her to be sceptical on numerous occasions.
"He made some very cruel remarks, not like the Oussama I know," Debbie pointed out.
The mother, who is 43 years older than Oussama, revealed why nighttime had been especially difficult in her new house. "He keeps changing, and it always happens at night," she continued. "In Morocco, I'm terrified of the dark. It's as though he entirely transforms."
Julien responded, "It sounds like he's more Dr. Jekyll [and] Mr. Hyde than Prince Charming."
Debbie was "so offended" that she left Oussama's family house and checked into a hotel. "Well, I'm glad you found out now rather than later," Julien said to his mother. "I'm just irritated. I dislike the guy."
Debbie's son pushed her to leave Oussama behind and return home, but Debbie wasn't ready to give up just yet.
"I'm trying to readjust my thinking," Debbie confessed when Julien inquired about the next steps. "In a moment, everything changed. This was a man I admired, and now he's transformed into someone else."
Julien suggested "cutting ties" and "blocking him" so Oussama couldn't "wine and dine" Debbie back into love. Debbie, on the other hand, was sceptical. "We had such good times together," she reminisced. "Through laughter and joking, he read me the most beautiful poetry he had written for me." Then he transforms into a cold-blooded serpent."
Debbie spoke to the cameras about the path ahead. "I'm in mourning for the loss of my best friend," she explained. "It's like, Debbie, just stop now." Leave. Return home. But I'm not sure I'm ready for it. You know how much I miss my pal? It wasn't a sexual relationship that I missed the most; it was my friend."
This was the first time Debbie and Oussama had such a big fight.
Fans watched Oussama remark earlier in the season that he expected Debbie to stay in Morocco for only a month or two before returning to the United States. All of this despite Debbie's repeated declarations that she intended her departure to be permanent, including packing all of her belongings for a life in Morocco and even living with his parents in her 60s.
Still, she and Oussama had a lot of trouble getting on the same page, and it was clearer than ever that they couldn't.
