Angelica Ross claims she has received an apology from Emma Roberts for her behavior on the set of American Horror Story: 1984.
One day after the alum, 42, accused her former costar, 32, of making a transphobic comment on set of the FX series, Ross shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Roberts reached out to make amends.
“Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally,” she shared on Wednesday. “I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform.”
Ross — who is transgender — first spoke out about the alleged incident on Tuesday during an Instagram Live, which was captured by an AHS fan account.
In the video, Ross claimed the incident between her and Roberts, who she only identified by first name and initials, allegedly took place while they were filming the anthology series together.
“I’m standing in front of Emma, talking to her like this, and she’s in front of me, her back against the mirror. She goes, ‘John, Angelica’s being mean,’” she claimed, seemingly referring to AHS director John J. Gray.
Ross claimed that Gray then said, “Okay, ladies, you know, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.”
The actress continued, “[Roberts] then looks at me, and she goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady?’ And she turns around like this and covers her mouth. I’m staring at her, looking her dead ass in the [camera], and I’m like, trying to process the f — — she just said.”
Ross said that she feared retaliation if she reported the alleged incident, claiming, “My blood is boiling because I’m like, if I say something, it’s gonna be me that’s the problem. I know this because there was someone who spoke up about what she was doing, and they got repercussions from it.”
The Transparent alum admitted that she no longer spoke to Roberts after the alleged on-set encounter.
“When I saw that happening, I was just like, ‘I’m done. I’m done.’ I didn’t speak to that b — — the entire time after that,” she claimed. “She said to me she could feel the energy coming off of me.”
She continued, “She was like, ‘Are you okay? You haven’t been talking.’ I’m like, ‘Mmhmm,’ Cause b — — , don’t play me. You’ve been playing mind games with everybody on the set and everybody’s been waiting for the moment that you would get me.’”

In a separate tweet on Wednesday, Ross alleged another troubling incident with Roberts and what seems to be their 1984 costar Cody Fern.
“We’re all sitting around & I’m copying Cody’s accent. Didn’t know he had one. Emma then copies my voice & laugh and drops it several octaves,” she wrote. “I was SHOOK. She read me for blood with my own words. of course I was self conscious about my voice on set after that.”
Also on Monday, Ross accused AHS creator Ryan Murphy of ghosting her after proposing they work together on an all-Black season of the FX series.
The actress posted an alleged email exchange between her and the producer about the potential show, which never materialized. In a TikTok video, she claimed her follow-ups about the series were left “on read” and never answered by Murphy, causing her to miss out on a possible opportunity to work with Marvel.
AHS: 1984 premiered in September 2019 and was a homage to the slasher movies of that era, like Friday the 13th. The series was set in Los Angeles during the 1980s and followed a summer camp staff as they reopened grounds after a massacre 14 years earlier. Besides Roberts, Ross, and Fern, the series also starred Billie Lourd, Matthew Morrison, Leslie Grossman, Gus Kentworthy, John Carroll Lynch and Zach Villa.
Roberts is currently gearing up for her return to the franchise with AHS: Delicate in which she costars with Kim Kardashian. The series debuts on FX Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
