Charity Lawson ‘s new man is her own personal cheerleader!
While speaking ahead of her debut on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars, the Bachelorette star opened up about how she’s been living life as an engaged woman and how her fiancé Dotun Olubeko has been her greatest support.
“Dotun has been great,” she gushed. “Obviously, we have been celebrating engagement and life after the show, so that’s been a lot. But it’s been all good. Honestly, we’re really thriving.”
“He is truly my number one fan,” Charity, 27, said, noting how he’s affected all areas of her life. “He’s been helping me with my diet, my wellness, all those things. Also, the mental and emotional too. He’s always checking in, so I’m super grateful for him.”
Bachelor Nation fans saw Charity and Dotun get engaged in the season 20 finale of The Bachelorette. Right after she said “yes” to his proposal, Dotun was the one to reveal that Charity would be given a spot to compete on the competitive dance reality show.
“So I know you like to cut up, you like to dance and you like to get down,” he teased Lawson. “And you know that we’ve talked about this, about how amazing this opportunity would be, and I am so happy to be the one to tell you that you’re going to be on Dancing with the Stars.”
Shortly after the whirlwind finale, the happy couple told their plans to move in together “as soon as possible” in late August.
“We love to be around each other — it’s hard to be apart — so we want to make that happen ASAP,” Dotun said. “We can’t wait.”
While they haven’t settled on a wedding date, Charity shared she hopes to have a year-and-a-half-long engagement and revealed her plans to have the ceremony in 2025 or 2026.
“We’re not really trying to have a super incredibly 17-year length engagement,” she added. “We obviously came here to find love, and we have successfully done that. So [we’re] super happy to get our lives started.”
In the meantime, Dotun and Charity noted how excited they were to take their relationship public now that the finale has aired.
“It’s the little things. It’s just living life,” Dotun said of what he anticipates doing with Charity. “It’s going to be grocery shopping, concerts and hanging out with friends. It’s really basic. We’re looking forward to it all, though. We’ve been doing our best to live lives apart and in hiding. And in everything we do, we’re always like, ‘I wish you were here.’”
Charity added, “The fact that we don’t have to hide anymore is going to be great. Simple things — going on a walk down the street, going to the grocery store, going to a concert, being able to experience the things that brings us the most joy together — I am super excited about. We don’t care about anything else besides just being together.”
Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Tuesday, Sept. 26 on ABC, and will stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
