Kim Kardashian is using her platform to acknowledge a kind gesture.
The reality star, 43, shared a message of gratitude on her Instagram Story on Friday, thanking Bobby Naugle, who co-designed Kanye West’s College Dropout bear, commonly referred to as just Dropout Bear. (Sam Hansen was the other co-designer, per .)
Alongside a photo of herself with Naugle, the Kardashians star revealed that the designer reached out to her last year “because he wanted to gift North some of the original merch that he helped produce” and “asked for nothing in return.”
“We stayed in touch since then,” Kardashian continued. “And after being approached by a few collectors and auction houses regarding other collectables he owned from 2003–2005, which included first-hand sketches and Kanye’s original personal pink RL polo, Bobby felt it [would] be most appropriate to give them to our kids, again, asking for nothing in return.”
“I would like to publicly thank Bobby for his kindness and generosity (it’s very rare in this industry), when he could have easily made a lot of money from selling off these items instead,’ the SKIMS founder finished.
In the slides that followed, Kardashian included looks at some of the “collectables,” including the pastel Ralph Lauren polo she previously mentioned, and a black graphic T-shirt, which she showcased alongside a picture of West, 46, wearing it.
Kardashian shares four children, North, 10, Saint, 8, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4, with West, and their oldest has consistently been a vocal fan of her father’s music — particularly his 2004 debut album.
During a trip to Japan with her mom in August, North paid homage to her rapper dad by channeling his College Dropout-era style.
In a TikTok, the 10-year-old danced in Tokyo while lip-syncing with friends to a sped-up version of Estelle’s “American Boy,” which features a verse from West, while wearing one of his most recognizable ‘fits.
North donned a long-sleeve, blue-and-orange striped Ralph Lauren polo shirt with the color popped, and accessorized with a long chain — a combination West wore during a 2004 appearance on Total Request Live.
Two months later, North took things to the next level on Halloween, channeling not West, but his iconic bear character. (Dropout Bear appeared regularly throughout the beginning of West’s career, and would occasionally accompany him at public events, including his 2004 TRL appearance.)
Specifically, North rocked the exact outfit the character sports on the cover of the rapper’s 2007 album Graduation.
Once again, North documented the look with a TikTok set to the sped-up version of “American Boy.” In the clip, she starts close to the camera, and then backs away and puts the bear head on to show off the complete ensemble.
The rapper’s eldest daughter also danced along to two other Graduation tracks, including “ I Wonder” and “ Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
