Lisa Barlow is currently dealing with the unthinkable.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 49, shared an update with her followers on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, revealing that her eldest son, Jack Barlow, has been hospitalized amid his mission trip in Colombia. “I miss Jack every day — he has been in the hospital for 3 days and it’s killing me not being there ♥️♥️,” she wrote.
It will only take one Blast, then at once they will see ˹it all˺.

Lisa didn’t specify why the 19-year-old was hospitalized but replied to a fan’s tweet asking what he was being treated for, saying, “They are figuring it out.”
Earlier that day, Lisa had posted a photo of Jack, who graduated from high school in May, on her Instagram Story and X, where he was smiling in a selfie taken in what appeared to be a street market.
“Jack is in Colombia,” she wrote in the tweet. “Sorry to disappoint those who can’t control their inner bitch and make up lies about where and why he went.”
In another response to a fan’s tweet, Lisa said Jack is “loving” his time in South America, but shared that “he’s been in hospital for [the] past 3 days” and that it’s “very stressful being far away” while he’s unwell.
She also noted that they “will know more tomorrow” about Jack’s status, hinting at a possible update to come on Wednesday.
On this season of RHOSLC, Jack announced his decision to delay college and go on a Mormon mission trip. Lisa and her husband, John Barlow, announced his call to Colombia at a party attended by friends and family that was documented on the show.
At one point during the season, she said of her son’s decision, “I get so emotional, ’cause I’m like, it’s such a big deal.”
Though Lisa was upset about her son being so far from home for two years, she was thrilled about his decision to put his faith into action and has supported the mission trip.
In an Instagram post, she shared photos from the announcement party and gushed about her older son and “the most amazing day” celebrating him.
“There is nothing better than watching your child make hard decisions and do things with impact. I loved celebrating you today,” she wrote in the caption. “I will miss you every second of every day but you are going to thrive. Grateful for so many people that have helped shape you. Today was one I will never forget. ♥️.”
As Jack’s birthday occurred in October amid his South America mission trip, his parents shared tributes on Instagram. Lisa noted in her post how she wished she could be celebrating with her son in person.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sunshine, Jack. I wish we were with you to celebrate,” she wrote in the caption as she shared a collection of photos of him. “Jack Barlow — you could not be more amazing. Could not have asked for a more amazing son. I miss you everyday and know God is with you. I love being your mom.”
The Bravo star also replied to a follower’s comment on the post that asked about the nature of the mission, and she shared that the family “can only talk to him 1 x a week” and that Jack “is working all day every day” during his time in Colombia.
