Rumer Willis Gives Update on Dad Bruce's Health 'He's Doing Really Good'

Rumer Willis recently provided an update on her father Bruce Willis, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Speaking at Jhpiego's Laughter is the Best Medicine Gala on May 2 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the 35-year-old actress shared, “He's doing really good. I got to go over there with [daughter] Louetta today.”

In addition, Rumer expressed the importance of being open about Bruce’s condition, suggesting that it could provide support to others facing similar challenges with their loved ones. Speaking to Fox News, she said, "I think, for me, through this experience, what’s been so incredible is my dad is so beloved, and that’s been so evident in the transparency with which we’ve been sharing. And I think if there’s any way sharing our experience brings hope — whatever comes forward as a family — that can have an effect and bring any sort of hope, comfort to someone else experiencing that, then to me, that’s … everything."

Frontotemporal dementia encompasses various brain disorders that affect the frontal and temporal lobes, leading to their atrophy. This deterioration can result in speech difficulties, emotional instability, and alterations in personality. Other symptoms may include declining motor skills, such as walking and swallowing difficulties, as well as muscle spasms. Symptoms typically worsen progressively over time. The onset of symptoms is usually observed between the ages of 40 and 65, although it can affect individuals at a younger age. It is the most common form of dementia among people under 60.

In November 2023, Tallulah Willis, the youngest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, shared insights into her father's life following his diagnosis during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. She remarked that despite the diagnosis, her father remained the same, which she found to be comforting. She expressed gratitude for the love she feels from him, emphasizing the special bond they share.

The Quran - Chapter Muhammad : 20 - 23

And the believers say, “If only a sûrah was revealed ˹allowing self-defence˺!” Yet when a precise sûrah is revealed, in which fighting is ˹explicitly˺ mentioned, you see those with sickness in their hearts staring at you like someone in the throes of death. It would have been better for them

to obey and speak rightly. Then when fighting was ordained, it surely would have been better for them if they were true to Allah.

Now if you ˹hypocrites˺ turn away, perhaps you would then spread corruption throughout the land and sever your ˹ties of˺ kinship!

These are the ones who Allah has condemned, deafening them and blinding their eyes.

It is characteristic of a hypocrite to talk big. But his words do not follow his actions; he talks of jihad but in times of defensive battle runs away from it.

It is the way of true people of faith that they are always ready to hear and obey and, when stringent measures are decided upon, they prove by their actions that they have fulfilled the pledge that they had taken before God as their witness.

In order to avoid participation in defensive battle, hypocrites make a pretence of being lovers of peace.

But, in reality, whenever they have the opportunity, they start spreading bad blood, so much so that, completely careless of Muslims who are their relatives, they become the supporters of their enemies.

In the eyes of God, such people are accursed. Being such means their thinking power is taken away from them. In spite of having eyes, they will not see, and in spite of having ears, they will hear nothing.
