Caroline Stanbury recently discussed her weight loss journey on her podcast, Uncut & Uncensored with Caroline Stanbury. The 48-year-old Real Housewives of Dubai star shared that she used Ozempic to shed pounds during a “midlife crisis” at 45.
In an Instagram video from the podcast episode, Stanbury explained, “After 40, it’s very, very hard to lose weight. I met so many women in their 40s asking, ‘How have you done it?’ I don’t want to lie to you … I used Ozempic, which I think is one of the best tools if you’re able to use it.”
She referred to Kate Moss' famous comment, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," and added, "There's something to that."
Ozempic is a type 2 diabetes drug that is widely used in Hollywood to help people lose weight. It is the brand name for semaglutide, which is also used in the clinical obesity medication Wegovy. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that suppresses appetite.
Stanbury's discussion of using Ozempic follows her documentation of a facelift recovery on social media last year. Fans were shocked by her appearance as she returned home from surgery in November 2023, looking bruised and swollen with bandages around her head.
Carrallo shared on Instagram that it was “one of the hardest moments of my life,” seeing his wife in pain. “Seeing the person that you love with all your heart suffering and in pain how she was …it was very hard,” he wrote. “As a husband, I will always support her and be here for her. Even though I was against it, she really wanted to do it. So, I was there for her, supporting and helping her day to day."
Caroline Stanbury will appear on season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dubai, premiering Sunday, June 2, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Season 1 is available for streaming on Peacock.
