The title track from Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," can help save a life.
After Swift, 34, released the album on April 19, the American Heart Association confirmed that the song features the exact tempo for hands-on CPR — 110 beats per minute.
“A double album!?! 🤯 So double the chances for songs with lifesaving beats!?! ✌️,” read the AHA’s April 19 Instagram post. “If you see a teen or adult collapse, call 911, then push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ Thanks, @taylorswift!”
Several fans quipped about this news in the comment section. “takes notes another banger to add to a life-saving playlist 🙏,” wrote one user.
Another added: “And just like that a whole new generation knew what to do in an emergency! 🚨 ❤️.”
“But she stopped CPR after all it’s no use 😂😂😂😂,” commented another, riffing with lyrics from the album’s “So Long, London” track.
While the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” has notably served as the go-to reference song for hands-on CPR, the British Heart Association previously shared that Swift’s ex Matty Healy’s band, The 1975, also has a song with 110 beats per minute. The BHA posted in October 2022 that the band’s 2016 hit, “Somebody Else,” also works for hands-on CPR.
Many of the songs on "TTPD" — including the title track — appear to be written about her brief romance with The 1975 frontman from last spring. The pair stepped out publicly with their romance in May 2023, though they were broken up by June. Swift is now dating NFL superstar Travis Kelce, while Healy is dating model Gabbriette Bechtel.
After its release, Swift’s eleventh studio album has become the biggest of her career and the biggest album of the decade so far, with 2.61 million consumption units, according to reports.
The Quran - Chapter Muhammad : 01 - 03
Those who disbelieve and hinder ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah, He will render their deeds void.
As for those who believe, do good, and have faith in what has been revealed to Muḥammad—which is the truth from their Lord—He will absolve them of their sins and improve their condition.
This is because the disbelievers follow falsehood, while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. This is how Allah shows people their true state ˹of faith˺.
In ancient Arabia, the deeds of those who denied the prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad and opposed him, counted for nothing.
In other words, since they did not prove to be religious on the level of moral awareness, their achievements, performed as a matter of conventional and traditional religiosity, became valueless.
The people of ancient Arabia used to consider themselves the community of Abraham and Ishmael. They also had the honour of being the custodians of the Kabah.
The customs of prayer, fasting and Hajj in some form or the other were also prevalent among them. The serving of Hajj pilgrims, good treatment of relatives, and hospitality towards guests were also social requirements.
Though the ancient Arabs acquitted themselves well on all these scores, their actions were not the outcome of their conscious religiousness.
They performed all these deeds simply because it had been the custom to do so for centuries. In order to recognise the prophet of the time, it was necessary for them to have heightened their own awareness.
At that time, the force of ancient traditions had not yet built up around the Prophet Muhammad. Therefore, only one who was capable of recognising reality through deep personal perception could have acknowledged him.
In this context, when they rejected their contemporary prophet, it was clearly established that their religiousness was based purely on tradition and not on personal realization.
And God requires religiousness in spirit not in form devoid of spirit. Those, however, who embraced the faith of the Prophet of their own times, proved that they were capable of being religious at a heightened level of consciousness.
