Ashley Benson is addressing accusations that she's using Ozempic for weight loss. On Monday, June 17, the 34-year-old actress responded to comments suggesting she's taking the type 2 diabetes medication following the birth of her daughter in February. This speculation arose after she posted a mirror selfie earlier that day.
In the Instagram photo, Benson posed in a dressing room wearing a red cap, sunglasses, a black tank top, and gray sweatpants. "My fav hat," she captioned the image. The post drew attention to her post-pregnancy appearance, with one commenter questioning, “How was she JUST pregnant?!?” and another insinuating her weight loss was due to Ozempic by sharing a photo of the drug’s advertisement.
Benson found these remarks amusing and addressed them on her Instagram Stories, sharing the comments alongside the Ozempic photo. "Comments like this are so funny to me," she wrote. Benson emphasized that while many people use Ozempic, which is their choice, it's important not to dismiss those who work hard to regain their fitness. "I've worked very hard to get my body back," she explained, crediting her health and fitness journey, particularly using the Melissa Wood Health app.
Benson and her husband Brandon Davis welcomed their daughter on February 29. The couple, who confirmed their marriage in July 2023, announced they were expecting their first child in the same month.
Speaking at the VIP launch event for the CYBEX by Jeremy Scott Car Collection in Los Angeles on June 5, Benson shared her excitement about new motherhood. “I’m a new mom, so that’s been very fun,” she said. She also gushed about her daughter’s love for dressing up. “Oh my God, it's so much fun. She's mostly in little cute onesies and stuff, but we're taking her on vacation at the end of the summer, so I have all of her little dresses and the accessories. I mean, it's so much fun,” she added, noting, “Having a girl is the best.”
