Kate Moss has arrived to the 2023 Met Gala with her daughter Lila Grace!
The mother-daughter combo made quite a statement on the red carpet, both dressed in Fendi baby pink outfits.
Kate, 49, wore a handmade lace slip dress with detachable georgette sleeves designed by Kim Jones for the Italian fashion business and produced just for her. A stunning Tiffany & Co. silver necklace wrapped around her neck, and pendant earrings hung from her ears.
Her edgy beauty look contrasted sharply with her angelic ensemble. Kate's hair was styled by celebrity hairstylist Sam McKnight into her distinctive middle-parted waves. Kate also collaborated with Charlotte Tilbury on a basic smokey eye makeup look.
Meanwhile, Lila, 20, experimented with her look, wearing a fluffy gown (covered in feathers to create the appearance of fur) that revealed a bit of her midriff thanks to the sheer silk bodice. The gown, worn with sparkly sandals, is from Fendi's Fall/Winter 2018 collection and was designed by the evening's honoree, the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Syd Hayes was in charge of styling the aspiring model's blonde locks into a slicked-back look with curled fringe gelled to her brow. To mirror the softness of her gown, makeup artist Tom Pecheux produced a gentle peachy look.
"Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," the theme of the 2023 Met Gala, celebrates Lagerfeld, and the accompanying exhibit showcases around 150 of his greatest outfits from his prolific six-decade career — designs he made while working for brands such as Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his own eponymous label.
Kate accompanied Lila Grace to her first Met Gala last year; both wore Burberry outfits. Kate wore an off-the-shoulder double-breasted Burberry gown with sheer tights and Jimmy Choo shoes, as well as A La Vieille Russie vintage diamonds. Lila Grace looked stunning in a light brown Burberry gown with a silky embroidered overlay.
Kate has donned some eye-catching ensembles over the years. In 2019, she wore a Marc Jacobs silver sequin caped gown with a Jimmy Choo handbag. A diamond bracelet and exquisite drop earrings completed the magnificent appearance.
She co-chaired the event in 2009 with Anna Wintour, Justin Timberlake, and honorary chair Marc Jacobs. In keeping with the concept of "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," Kate donned a striking short, glittering gold gown with one long floor-length sleeve.
In 1995, the supermodel was just 21 years old when she made her Met Ball debut in a strapless, bright gown and black shawl. Her hair was down in beachy blonde waves, and she completed the ensemble with a crimson lip.
While her one and only is undeniably dominant in the modelling industry, the Cosmoss founder was initially sceptical of Lila's involvement.
Kate stated in an interview in 2008 that her "dream is for my daughter to be happy" and that she want for her to "grow up like a normal girl, far from fame."
Lila also told British Vogue last year that her mother discouraged her from modelling from a young age. "She was always like, 'If you wanna do it, you can, but I wouldn't recommend it.'"
