Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are getting into the Christmas spirit with some festive family gear!
The newly engaged Golden Bachelor alums rang in the holiday season by joining their families ahead of Christmas in a picture shared to Instagram.
“Going to be a very Gerry Christmas with Theresa and our blended family,” the 72-year-old former restaurateur captioned the post.
The photo featured the Turner-Nist ladies posing on a staircase wearing matching red sweaters that read “A Very Gerry Christmas.” Theresa, 70, sat next to her daughter Jen Woolston and her daughter-in-law Amanda Nist. Gerry’s two daughters, Jenny Young and Angie Turner, smiled as they stood a level higher.
Gerry and Theresa made history when they became the first couple to get engaged on the Golden Bachelor. Shortly after their engagement, the duo announced their plans to televise their wedding on Thursday, Jan. 4 at the After the Final Rose special.
In a joint interview, Gerry and Theresa gushed about their daughters and how they’ve helped out with the wedding planning.
“We have daughters who are so involved,” Theresa said. “My daughter, she’s seen a million weddings and she is incredible. She’s put together the vision board. She’s asking me, ‘Do you like this? Do you like this?’ And I go, ‘Wow, okay, I don’t even have to do this. This is awesome.’ She’s handling it pretty much.”
Gerry, on the other hand, shared how he was more than happy to hand over the reins to his bride-to-be and Jen.
“I can just hear the joy in her voice when I talk to her and she’s talking about whether it’s a dress or a cake or flowers or whatever it is,” he says. “It makes me so happy that she’s having this much of a good time with it. It’s like, what could be more fun?”
Gerry asked his sons-in-laws to be his best men and Theresa’s daughter will be her maid of honor.
“She is so thrilled!” Theresa said of her daughter’s impending duties. “All of my six grandsons will be involved and we want to have Henry as the ring bearer. And we’re going to have my sisters — they don’t know this — as flower girls. They’re older. They should be thrilled with that.”
Theresa also shared how she’s looking forward to her new life with Gerry and the home they’ll make for their blended family.
“I would say finding a home together and creating that home that everyone would want to come to — our entire family, our friends — and just exploring life together and having adventures, going on vacation together and having a fun, incredible, wonderful life,” she said. “We feel like we’re going to have the best lives ever.”
The Golden Wedding will air Thursday, Jan. 4 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
