Gerry Turner is about to become a step-grandpa of six!
A few episodes before he picked Theresa Nist as the season winner, the Golden Bachelor star (and grandpa of two granddaughters) visited his finalists' hometowns to meet their families. Upon his visit to Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Turner bonded with Nist's sisters, her daughter and three of her grandkids Dempsey, Leo and Henry. (Nist's other three grandsons, who live with her son in South Carolina, weren't there to meet Turner.) The three boys didn't hesitate to give the 72-year-old reality star their stamp of approval.
Glorified is your Lord—the Lord of Honour and Power—above what they claim!Peace be upon the messengers. And praise be to Allah—Lord of all worlds.(The Quran - Chapter Saffat : 180 - 182)
As the world waits to see Turner and Nist wed in a televised ceremony on Jan. 4, 2024, take a look at the six grandkids Nist loves spending time with.
Meet the Boys
Turner got to sit down with three of Theresa's six grandsons during his visit to their home in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Dempsey, Leo and Henry were asked by Turner what they thought of him and their "nana" getting together.
"She comes over a lot because she's always lonely," one of the kids replied. "It would mean a lot to her if you guys get married."
Love for Nana
Turner and the boys had some jesting fun when he asked them what they thought was "most interesting" about their grandma.
"When taking selfies, she would do this weird face," one of the little ones responded, mimicking a pout as he described Nist's picture-ready face.
"Duck lips, I think it's called," another grandson added, as all three boys and Turner started to try the cheeky pout as well.
Home Sweet Home
Nist was surrounded by her tight-knit circle as she watched her winning season unfold on air. After one episode that Nist described as "a bit hard" to watch due to cast drama, she shouted out her loved ones for their support.
"Thank you to my friends and family that know me and know that I would never mean to make someone else feel bad in any way, and to my new friends that can already see that in me as well. Love to all!" Nist captioned an Instagram photo featuring her daughter and grandkids among a big group at home.
Going the Distance
The Golden Bachelor finalist's other three grandkids, Brandon, Brody and Braxton, live in South Carolina with their dad, Nist's son Tommy. Even though she lives up the coast, the financial services expert explained that she often travels south to see them.
"We try to visit as often as we can and always spend Christmas together," Nist wrote on Instagram before she was unveiled as the season winner.
Southern Days Ahead
In her new life with Turner, however, Nist won't be missing her son and grandkids down south. The new couple plans to move to Charleston after their televised wedding in January.
After the finale, Turner spoke about how "fate" guided their choice of where to relocate.
"For the last couple of years, when my family gets together, I've talked about moving to South Carolina, and it's an idea I've toyed with," he said. "And then in conversation with Theresa, a private moment, she's saying, ‘Well, yeah, my son lives near Charleston in South Carolina.’”
In the Sun
"Nothing better than the boys and the beach," Nist captioned one sunny memory with the boys.
Golden Boys
As the Golden Bachelor season kicked off in September, two of the kids dressed up in honor of her debut on the show.
"Two of my six grandsons, Leo and Henry, wearing gold to school and reminding you all that @goldenbachabc will be on this Thursday night!!" Nist wrote on Instagram.
Giggles with Grandma
"Henry’s been making me laugh since 2017!" the finalist captioned a precious throwback photo.
Across Generations
Nist's family sure knows how to celebrate another rotation around the sun. In 2016, the grandma-of-six hopped into a bounce house to play with the youngsters. According to her Instagram caption, the fun-filled activity was part of Dempsey's birthday present that year.
In the Family
Nist's Instagram is filled with fun family photos, including some with her daughter Jen, whom Golden Bachelor fans met during Turner's hometown visit.
The More the Merrier
Nist has always been loud and proud about her love for the little ones. Her very first post on Instagram saw her holding two of the boys at home.
Support Squad
As Turner's visit to Shrewsbury wound down, Nist's grandsons shared some sweet wishes for the couple.
"I just think that you should be the new Papa for us," one of the grandkids told the Bachelor himself, much to the delight of everyone else in the room.
