Steve-O is commemorating his strides in his weight loss journey.
On May 10, the former "Jackass" star took to Instagram to share a before-and-after snapshot, revealing a 20-pound weight loss since dedicating himself to health in February. In the image, the 49-year-old showcases his toned physique while clad in nothing but a leopard-print speedo.
"These photos are three months and TWENTY POUNDS apart! My 50th birthday is next month, and I decided to give Father Time a good kick in the shins by prioritizing my health," he captioned the post. "Life on the ranch is treating me well, a big thank you to @jbird48 for capturing my 'after' shots!"
Part of the reality star's commitment to a healthy lifestyle involves maintaining his sobriety.
Steve-O, born Stephen Glover, has been candid about his struggles with addiction and past substance abuse. In March, he marked 16 years of sobriety with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
On March 10, alongside a transformation photo of himself, he expressed gratitude to his friend and "Jackass" co-creator Johnny Knoxville for intervening and assisting him in 2008.
"It's truly remarkable that I'm celebrating a complete sixteen years of sobriety today," he wrote. "It all began when @johnnyknoxville organized an intervention that saved my life on March 9, 2008. I can't even begin to express how thankful I am for my recovery... Thank you, Captain!!!"
In September 2022, Steve-O released his book titled "A Hard Kick in the Nuts: What I've Learned from A Lifetime of Terrible Decisions," delving into his journey of sobriety following battles with various forms of addiction.
"It's been more about realizing that I struggle with moderation and coming to terms with that," he shared with PEOPLE. "Understanding and accepting who you are, including your limitations, is key. I've come to terms with the fact that moderation isn't my forte."
Reflecting on addiction, Steve-O emphasized the importance of surrendering to the recovery process. "In terms of addiction, it's about surrendering to the journey of recovery... the first step in the 12-step program involves admitting powerlessness in our lives. It's about acknowledging defeat and surrendering when we've been overcome. That's how addiction is addressed," he explained.
Steve-O attributed much of his positive transformation to his longtime fiancée, Lux Wright. "I genuinely believe that everyone in my life, even remotely connected to me, acknowledges that I'm a better version of myself in my relationship with Lux," the actor and comedian remarked.
The Quran - Chapter Qaf : 44
˹Beware of˺ the Day the earth will split open, letting them rush forth. That will be an easy gathering for Us.
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا (...on the Day when the earth will burst apart exposing them, while they will be hurrying up. - 50:44). The Prophetic Tradition indicates that this 'hurrying up' will be towards Syria where the Dome of the Rock is situated.
Israfil (علیہ السلام) will stand on it, and call the people on the Day of Judgment. It is recorded in Jami` Tirmidhi, on the authority of Sayyidna Mu` awiyah Ibn Hayadah ؓ ، that the Holy Prophet ﷺ ، pointing towards Syria, said:
مِن ھٰھُنَا اِلیٰ ھٰھُنَا تُحشَرُونَ رُکبَاناً وَّ مُشَاۃً وَّ تُجَرُّونَ علیٰ وُجُھِکُم یَومَ القِیامَۃ
"From here towards that [ pointing towards Syria ] you will be raised, some riding, and others on foot, and yet others will be dragged on the faces on the Day of Judgment..."
