Mark Consuelos is not surrendering to the so-called "dad bod" anytime soon!
During the Monday, September 2 episode of "Live with Kelly & Mark", co-hosts Kelly Ripa, 53, and Mark Consuelos, 53, engaged in a lively discussion about men’s health. Ripa, with a hint of playful anticipation, mentioned that she’s been waiting for her husband to embrace a more relaxed physique, especially given their three grown children—Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21.
"I keep waiting for you to enter your 'dad bod' phase," Ripa teased on air. "When do you think you’ll get there?"
Without missing a beat, Consuelos dismissed the notion, stating emphatically, "I have no plans for that. None at all. I intend to fend it off as long as I can. But it is a natural process, you know; they say nature has a hand in it."
He went on to explain that these bodily shifts are often linked to "a reduction in testosterone." He elaborated, "We become more emotional, and we even lose hair from our eyebrows."
A surprised Ripa responded, "Is that why? Have you lost eyebrow hair?"
Consuelos confirmed, "Yeah, yeah. It relocates to other places, like my ears," prompting Ripa to remark, "I've never noticed any ear hair on you."
He confessed, “There was one time—I hadn’t mentioned it before—but it was a particularly windy day, and I felt something brushing against my ear. I thought, 'What could that possibly be?' Turned out, it was the longest hair."
Returning to the discussion on maintaining fitness, Consuelos emphasized, "But there are methods to prevent it. Full-body workouts that engage all major muscle groups," highlighting the significance of cardiovascular exercise and mindful nutrition.
Consuelos has been passionate about fitness for decades, even managing to enhance his physique while Ripa was pregnant with their eldest son.
Earlier in the show, Ripa had shared a story: "Want to know what really annoyed me? When I was pregnant, Mark decided to join a gym and hired a personal trainer. The more my belly grew, the fitter he became."
Recently, the father of three posted a series of summer snapshots with his daughter Lola on Instagram. In the images, the duo sported matching jerseys from Liquid Death water brand and Campobasso Football Club, an Italian soccer team owned by Consuelos and Ripa.
He captioned the photos, "Less than 24 hours before our first match... Forza Lupi."
