Carl Radke Said It Felt Right to Let Lindsay Hubbard Keep Their Apartment After Broken Engagement

Summer House
stars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke ‘s infamous $13,000/month apartment has only one inhabitant now.

Radke, 38, told he vacated the New York City home he once shared with Hubbard, 37, to after the couple called off their engagement.

“The apartment situation is still something we’re trying to navigate,” Radke told at BravoCon in Las Vegas. “Out of respect, I wanted to do the right thing and it felt right to give her the apartment to take the space.”

Radke confirmed that he has a new apartment. “So excited to have a new foundation,” he said. “Since I’ve had the new foundation, it’s been incredibly positive for me.”

Still, Radke admitted that “there’s still some closure” needed with his ex, as well as other post-split issues that “are going to need to be figured out at some point.”

“I’m just on one day at a time,” he said. “I’m just trying to just take care of myself.”

Radke describes the breakup as “unbelievably emotionally hard for the both of us” and added that, “if there’s a way I can make it all better in some capacity, I would do that.”

The Syracuse University alum has found it more difficult to cope with the split from Hubbard than the 2020 death of his brother.

“This has been harder than my brother passing away, I’m not even kidding,” Radke said. “It’s been very, very painful and emotional.”

In September, Radke sent out an email to his and Hubbard’s loved ones who planned to attend their November nuptials in Mexico letting them know there wouldn’t be a wedding.

“There have been a lot of false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful but sadly at this time we are not moving forward with the wedding,” Radke wrote. “The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated and I’m crushed with how all this transpired. I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time.”

In a since-deleted Instagram post from Sept. 14, Hubbard spoke about the split for the first time, admitting that she’d been having “a hard time making sense of it all — with no answers or closure on why.”

Radke refutes that the decision to end the engagement came as a surprise to Hubbard.

“I firmly don’t believe she was blindsided because we’ve had these conversations,” he told at BravoCon.

He also denied the rumor that he called the Bravo cameras to come film the breakup.

“I did not call production to set her up,” Radke said. “I don’t decide what is being filmed on Summer House. I really don’t. I just respond to what’s being requested.”

When the new season of Summer House airs next year, Radke believes viewers will understand why his relationship with Hubbard ended.

“We had a really rough summer, and I think people will see that,” Radke acknowledged. “But it just shows the gravity of the situation when I really deep down felt like I needed to have a conversation with her about where we were at in our relationship and moving forward with the wedding.”
