Kate Beckinsale has shared a tidbit on social media about her recent health issues.
In the caption of an April 20 Instagram post, the actress, 50, offered a glimpse into her grieving process following the death of her beloved stepfather Roy Battersby in January.
She told her followers to “do all the things” while grieving a loved one, and hinted that her ongoing health problems have to do with her stomach.
Among the “things” she listed — which include everything from “wallow” and “cry” to “hug an animal or seven” — the actress implied that she has been experiencing pain in her gut.
“Buy gourmet cookies you can’t eat because your stomach hurts,” she wrote, adding, “Maybe eat them anyway. Or don’t.”
This brief mention of stomach pain comes after Beckinsale shared now-deleted photos surrounding her recent visits to the hospital, which she has not disclosed the reason for.
Earlier this month, the actress did, however, seemingly hint that her medical troubles have to do with her stomach by wearing a T-shirt that read, “TUMMY TROUBLES SURVIVOR.”
Beckinsale sported the graphic tee, which also showed a bunny dressed up in knight-like armor, in an Instagram carousel that she captioned with two emojis: “💪🏼 🤍.”
The actress’ shirt was front and center in the post, as she posed with her dog and rocked her signature accessory as of late: a large black hair bow.
Beckinsale first sparked concern about her health in March after she shared a since-deleted tribute post to her mom while celebrating her mother's birthday and Mother's Day in the U.K.
The caption of the post, which included teary-eyed photos of the actress sitting in a hospital bed, read in part: “Thank you to those that love us and support us when it’s s--- and try to make sure there are some bits that aren’t. ... And turn up when we are sick and sit with us.”
Since the original post, Beckinsale has shared — and deleted — several more photos of herself from the hospital bed, but has yet to disclose what illness she is struggling with.
The Quran - Chapter Ad-Dukhan : 32
And indeed, We chose the Israelites knowingly above the others.
وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ And We chose them, with knowledge above all the worlds. (44:32)," This does not imply that the Children of Israel are superior to the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ ، because the verse means that the Children of Israel were given superiority over all the people of their time.
This is just like the Qur'an has described the merit of Sayyidah Maryam (علیہا السلام) as being superior to the نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ "women of the worlds (3:42) which means that she was superior to the women of her time."
It is also possible that the Children of Israel have some sort of superiority to all the people of all times and ages from a particular angle, but collectively the Ummah of the Final Messenger ﷺ holds the highest status. (See Ibn Kathir and other sources for details.)
عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ "with knowledge" means that every work of Allah has wisdom. Thus wisdom underlying Allah's knowledge dictated that they be granted superiority, and they were granted accordingly.
