Ricki Lake reminisces as she dons her iconic white mini dress once again! On May 8, the beloved television host, aged 55, graced social media with a nostalgic photo, showcasing the same dress she rocked back in 2007 at The Business of Being Born premiere in New York City.
Adorned with intricate floral black embroidery on the chest, the dress exuded timeless elegance. Lake completed the look with chic black stilettos, effortlessly capturing attention with her stylish ensemble.
In a heartwarming caption on Instagram, Lake playfully remarked, "Oh, this old thing?? Just had it hanging around 🥰 Originally wore this dress to the Business of Being Born premiere in 2007 and now here I am wearing it again in 2024!" Alongside her caption, Lake shared a delightful throwback image from the premiere, featuring herself alongside the acclaimed film director, Abby Epstein.
Ricki Lake continues to inspire with her health and weight loss journey, recently sharing another remarkable transformation photo. This time, she revisited her wardrobe from over a decade ago, showcasing a mini black leather skirt and turtleneck sweater ensemble paired with stylish heeled knee-high boots.
In her caption, Lake reflected on the passage of time, noting the 13-year gap between the two photos. She fondly reminisced about wearing the outfit back in December 2011, shortly after her participation in Dancing with the Stars, and proudly celebrated her current age of 55. With hashtags like #thisis55, #allnatural, #healthy, #happy, and #proud, Lake conveyed her gratitude for her journey towards improved health and well-being.
Lake's posts come after she opened up about focusing on her health in an Instagram post in February.
Sharing newer and slightly older snaps from November, the Hairspray actress wrote, "Hi friends. I’ve been wanting to share with you what I’ve been up to these last 4 months. On October 26th, 2023 I made a commitment to myself to get healthier."
"My husband, Ross joined me in this effort. Together we have each lost 30+ lbs. I really want to share, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)," she continued.
Lake highlighted that neither she nor her husband was pre-diabetic, underscoring their decision to embark on their health journey without pharmaceutical assistance.
"At 55 and in perimenopause, I had concerns that my body might not respond to weight loss efforts as it had in the past," Lake revealed. "However, I am incredibly proud of our progress. I feel incredible. I feel empowered. 💪"
She hinted at the possibility of delving deeper into their weight loss methods in a future post, but asserted that their approach was the healthiest she had ever experienced.
The Quran - Chapter Al-Hujurat : 02 - 05
O believers! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you do to one another,1 or your deeds will become void while you are unaware.
Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah’s Messenger are the ones whose hearts Allah has refined for righteousness. They will have forgiveness and a great reward.
Indeed, most of those who call out to you ˹O Prophet˺ from outside ˹your˺ private quarters have no understanding ˹of manners˺.
Had they been patient until you could come out to them, it would have certainly been better for them. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
The Bedouin tribes from the areas surrounding Madinah were not mature in understanding. When they used to come to the meetings of the Prophet Muhammad, they did not address him as ‘O Prophet of God’, but rather as ‘O Muhammad.’
Their manner of speech was not modest or humble, but overbearing. Such behaviour was prohibited.
A Prophet is God’s representative in this world. Rudeness to him of this nature amounts to rude behaviour towards God, which renders a man absolutely worthless.
After the demise of the Prophet Muhammad, the guidance brought by him stands in his place. Now this divine guidance necessitates obedience just as obedience to the Prophet personally was required during his lifetime.
Fear of God makes a man serious. If fear of God really enters a man’s heart, he will come to know automatically, as a matter of instinct, all those realities of which others remain unaware in spite of being informed of them.
