TLC recently announced on social media that due to illness among members of their touring band, including Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, they've had to reschedule four Canadian tour dates. Unfortunately, T-Boz and others caught the flu, resulting in T-Boz losing her voice. As a precautionary measure, doctors have advised against her performing this week. The group expressed deep regret over the cancellations and apologized to fans for any inconvenience caused.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your support means the world to us, and we look forward to the opportunity to perform for you in the near future," expressed the duo, both aged 53. "We love you and will see you soon."
New dates for TLC's shows on May 14 in Moncton, NB, May 16 in Windsor, ON, and May 18 in Peterborough, ON, will be announced later. Additionally, their May 17 concert in Niagara Falls, ON, has been postponed to October 3.
TLC is scheduled to return to the stage on June 15 in Lincoln, Calif., and has numerous North American tour dates planned throughout the summer.
During the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards held in Los Angeles last month, the "Unpretty" vocalists were honored with a Landmark Award. Prior to accepting the accolade, Watkins and Thomas treated the audience to a nostalgic performance of their chart-topping hits "No Scrubs" and "Waterfalls". Latto also joined them on stage, adding her rap to the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' verse in "Waterfalls".
The four-time Grammy winners, who persevered as a duo following Lopes' tragic passing in a car accident at the age of 30 in 2002, have produced five studio albums to date. Their most recent album, self-titled TLC, was released in 2017, marking a significant milestone for Thomas and Watkins. In an interview with PEOPLE upon the album's release, they revealed that it would be their final record.
"We're forever TLC, no matter what," stated Thomas. "We've put in a lot of effort to build this brand together."
The Quran - Chapter Adh-Dhariyat : 18
and pray for forgiveness before dawn.
Merits of Seeking Forgiveness in the hours before dawn
وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ (and in the hours before dawn, they used to pray for forgiveness..., 51:18) The word ashar is the plural of sahar, and it refers to the latter sixth part of the night.
This verse speaks of the significance of seeking forgiveness in the latter part of the night. Another verse [ 3:17] also speaks of the significance of seeking forgiveness at the last hours of the night thus: وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالْأَسْحَارِ (...and who seek forgiveness in pre-dawn hours. - 3:17)
It is confirmed in the Sahih collections as well as others, from several Companions, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Allah, the Most High, descends each night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains.
He says: 'Is there anyone who is repenting, so that I may accept his repentance? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, so that I may forgive him? Is there anyone asking of Me, so that I may grant him his request?
Here it may be noted that in this verse Allah is describing the pre-dawn prayer of forgiveness of those righteous ones who, according to the preceding verse, are preoccupied for the major part of the night with the worship of Allah and sleep very little.
Thus there seems to be no link between their previous description and their description of asking for forgiveness in this verse, because forgiveness is sought when there are sins. People who spent the entire night in worshipping Allah - what does it mean to seek forgiveness of sins?
The answer to this question is that these people have the true appreciation of Allah's majesty, dignity and splendour, and they realise that there are shortcomings in their night-long worship.
Therefore they seek Allah's forgiveness for failing to perform His worship as due. (Mazhari)
