The multifaceted entrepreneur and creative, Tallulah Willis, has joined forces with the high-end silk brand, Kumi Kookoon, to launch her bespoke capsule collection, Kumi KøøBuu.

Navigating a demanding life has become an art form for Willis.

Last year, Willis, 30, was diagnosed with autism, a revelation she describes as providing "a layer of validation and a reassurance that these feelings aren't merely figments of my imagination or indicative of being 'too much.'" She continues, "There's no longer an urge to shrink myself. Instead, there's a comfort in knowing I am safe as I am; I simply require a different set of tools to move through the world."

Her current itinerary includes the debut of her Kumi KøøBuu collection, a curated line with Kumi Kookoon, known for their exquisite silk offerings. A devoted admirer of the brand, Willis initiated this collaboration three years ago, resulting in a range of vividly hued, hand-dyed silk creations that span from throws and bed sheets to duvet covers and pillowcases.

Deeply involved in every step of the creative process, Willis was especially drawn to the blankets, captivated by their inherent weight. "As I uncover more about my autism and sensory perceptions, I've found there is an immense comfort and sense of security in that weighted sensation," she reveals.

Willis views her autism as "a unique strength," acknowledging that being on the higher-functioning end of the spectrum shapes her individual path. "I feel immensely privileged," she confesses. "With that privilege comes a sense of duty and a drive to foster awareness and advocacy, particularly for women who receive diagnoses later in life."

Her diagnosis has also empowered Willis to take ownership of her needs, eliminating the expectation that others should intuitively understand her requirements. "It has opened the door to developing a richer vocabulary around these topics without the burden of judgment," she reflects.

Above all, Willis expresses her gratitude "for the mental health professionals, practitioners, therapists, and those on the front lines who are genuinely committed to helping others," she says, "offering support without judgment, only love."

The Kumi KøøBuu collection is now available through Kumi Kookoon's official website and on Instagram @kumikookoonofficial.
