West Hollywood has become the first city in the world to ban the sale of fur apparel.
Amazing!
The ban is the result of campaigning by a number of animal activist groups, including Last Chance for Animals and Animal Alliance.
No doubt animal lovers the world over will be rejoicing in the news…but we're guessing some of Hollywood's fur-loving celebrities won't be as excited.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, for one, will have to travel elsewhere to indulge in her fur-loving ways. The actress was named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal's (PETA) worst dressed celebrity in 2010, after wearing a cow-skin pants, a fox coat and an alligator bag.
Other celebrity fur fans, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson, will also have to make extra effort to buy their coveted animal goods…unless they just give it up all together, which sounds good to us!
