The field for NASCAR's Round of 8 end of the season games was settled Sunday after Christopher Ringer crossed the end goal in the lead position at the Roval at Charlotte Engine Speedway.
Ringer held off Kevin Harvick in the extra time piece of the Bank of America Roval 400 to join Pursue Elliott as the main two drivers to secure a spot in the following round of the end of the season games with a triumph.
Elliott won the YellaWood 500 at Talladega last end of the week.
While Ringer got the success, there was a lot of moving for position for the 3-8 spots.
Pursue Briscoe completed 10th in the race and ascended the stepping stool in front of reigning champ Kyle Larson to acquire the last spot in the end of the season games. Larson was dispensed with from conflict in the wake of completing 35th. Ross Chastain completed in 37th however had the option to complete six focuses in front of the cut line.
Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin and William Byron additionally got spots in the Round of 8.
Kyle Busch completed third with A.J. Allmendinger and Justin Haley balancing the main five.
Chime required the success to progress. He entered the race in eleventh out of 12 in the standings. It was his second success of the 2022 season.
"You just have to be there toward the finish of these things," Chime told NBC Sports after the race. "I continue to observe this multitude of races where the quickest vehicle doesn't necessarily win, and it's been no mysterious that street courses have not been our solidarity this year. In any case, we were only there with impeccable timing. We clearly weren't in that frame of mind to win. We tossed the dice, we bet and it paid off for us."
Ringer said he felt better about his possibilities pushing ahead.
