Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold’s chemistry in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom has fans wondering if their connection extends beyond the dance floor.
The Too Hot to Handle star, 26, and pro dancer, 18 — who, on DWTS’s Disney100 Night, performed a quickstep as ‘s Woody and Bo Peep, respectively — spoke after the show about why they believe judge Julianne Hough called them “lovebirds” during the episode.
“I think it’s because Bo Peep and Woody were lovebirds, no?” Jowsey added, “Maybe. I think that’s where she’s going.”
“We’re going to go with that,” Arnold stated.
They had any news to share or their reaction to the comment, Jowsey said, “I was too busy trying not to cry.”
“I think we were just too excited,” Arnold said, noting that “instantly” when the two met, they “just clicked and knew how to have so much fun together.”
“So, we’re just really enjoying each other’s company and we hope to keep staying each week because we’re just having so much fun,” she continued.
On whether Jowsey has plans to pivot his career to dancing, he told, “If Usher calls me up and says he needs me to dance in his Las Vegas residency, I’ll be there.”
Last week, Jowsey addressed rumors about dating Arnold after DWTS ‘s Motown Night, calling the speculation a “little bit unfair” to Arnold “so early on” in her first season.
“She’s so green to this whole world and everyone having an opinion, and stuff like that,” Jowsey told.
Season 32 may mark Arnold’s first as a DWTS pro, but competing for the Mirrorball Trophy runs in her family; she’s the younger sister of DWTS alum Lindsay Arnold, who won season 25 with actor Jordan Fisher.
Jowsey said he and Arnold wanted to focus on the competition, rather than their relationship, at this point. “It is week 3, we’re trying our best to focus on the dance, and whatever happens, happens,” he continued. “We’re just enjoying being together.”
Arnold and Jowsey, who attended the L.A. premiere of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour movie together, impressed the judges with Foxtrot on Motown Night, earning a 24 out of 40 from the judges.
Jowsey said he felt “shocked” by positive feedback, because he thought they were going to “slaughter” his performance.
“I just think because this week has been so difficult, and the foxtrot isn’t easy,” Jowsey told. “It’s been such a taxing week, mentally and physically. And then to hear them all say lovely things just shocked me. I was sitting there, I don’t even know if my frame was up, I don’t know if I got the right steps. I fully was just trying to be in the moment, so I think it just caught me off guard. I was expecting them to slaughter us this week.”
Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
