"It's like closing an entire chapter," said the 68-year-old, acknowledging, "I feel emotional about it."
Kris Jenner disclosed that she will be undergoing surgery after doctors discovered a tumor on her ovary.
In this week's episode of The Kardashians, the 68-year-old momager is on vacation in Aspen when she shares alarming health news with her boyfriend Corey Gamble and her daughters Kim, Khloé, and Kendall.
“I wanted to tell you something… I went to the doctor and had my scan,” she begins, tearing up. “They found a cyst and a small tumor on my ovary.”
“Dr. A said I need to have my ovaries removed, and I'm emotional about it because they were essential for you guys,” she tells her family. “That’s where all my children were conceived and grew. So, it’s a very sacred place to me.”
Kim expressed her sadness for her mom, admitting she can't imagine what Kris is going through or how scared she must feel about the surgery. Khloé then calls their sister Kourtney so Kris can share the news with her too.
“I completely understand how Mom feels because I would feel the same way,” Kourtney said. “It’s your womanly power. It doesn’t change who she is or what she’s experienced, but I’d feel sentimental about what it’s created.”
Kris assured her family, “If I can get through the hip replacement, I can get through this. I’m not nervous about the anesthesia or about Dr. A—she’s the best doctor in the world. But when it’s time to do it, it feels so real.”
Kris continued to cry, acknowledging that this signifies her aging and the end of this chapter in her life. “It’s a whole chapter that’s just closed,” she said.
In a confessional, Kendall said she understands why her mom is sad but believes that if Kris' ovaries are "potentially harmful" and no longer needed, it's time to "get them out."
Kim then tried to lighten the mood by suggesting they throw a "farewell ovaries party." Corey also attempted to cheer Kris up by surprising her with a gift.
“I have something to boost your energy,” he said, presenting her with a black fur coat. “I don’t want you to be sad. You’re probably going to cry 15 more times, so I just want you to have a gift.”
“I’m going to be fine…I have you guys,” Kris said. “People often ask me what the best job I've ever had is, and I always say: being a mom. The greatest blessing in my life was giving birth to six beautiful children.”
New episodes of The Kardashians are released on Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu.
