I burst out laughing when Sofia Vergara was talking to Ryan Seacrest about her dress. Look, it’s not like I’m in the habit of making fun of accents - longtime readers know that I love an accent, and hey, my dad’s an immigrant, so I grew up hearing English spoken with an accent. I just think Sofia’s Columbian accent is oversized and she works it harder for comedic effect. Like, when she told Seacrest that her dress was Vera Wang, it’s like Sofia’s mouth couldn’t form the appropriate sounds and it came out as “Vaaaa-rrrra WO-ONG!” It was ridiculous and yes, I laughed at her accent.
