Marlin Briscoe, The Magician, Dead at 76 Due To Pneumonia

The Magician, Marlin Briscoe passed away at the age of 76.

According to the his daughter Angela Marriott, The legendary athlete spent his last days in the hospital due to suffering from circulation issues in his legs and died of pneumonia at a hospital in Norwalk, California. 

she added, "He's made an immense contribution to the sport, I hope that he continues to get recognized for the contributions that he made. He was so proud of that achievement."

The Magician, who became the first Black quarterback to start in the "American Football League" while playing for the "Denver Broncos" in 1968. 

The Denver Broncos shared an official statement via Twitter on the death of the legend,

"RIP to “The Magician.”"

"Marlin Briscoe was a pioneer who shattered barriers, making history as the first Black starting quarterback in the Super Bowl era."

"Our deepest sympathies go out to Marlin’s family, friends and former teammates."
