Priyanka Chopra Jonas's husband Nick Jonas is responsible for bringing a sensual sequence in her upcoming romantic movie Love Again to life.
The actress, 40, spoke with HotGossipNewz on Wednesday evening at a screening of the film at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, where she said her husband "really took one for the team," given that she was originally intended to shoot a make-out scene for the film "with a random actor."
"I was not about having someone just lick my face during COVID," Chopra Jonas explained. "So I said to Nick, 'Please, could you do it?'" And he was such a gentleman."
"He came on site and it was hilarious. "I was completely unprofessional that day because he was taking the douchebag thing very seriously and practising for it," she went on to say. "And I was just in rips." I was a puddle of laughter. Everyone was having a good time. "At one point, the crew laughed so hard during a take that we had to retake it because it was so hilarious."
When asked how many times she and Jonas, 30, had to film the sequence, Chopra Jonas said, "I can't remember, but I don't think we did too many." We completed three or four."
According to the official plot, Love Again stars Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan as Mira and Rob, who meet after Mira sends love texts to her late fiancé's old phone number, "not realising the number had been reassigned to Rob Burns' new work phone."
"A journalist, Rob, is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts," begins the narrative. "When he's tasked with writing a profile of megastar Céline Dion, he enlists her assistance in figuring out how to meet Mira in person... and win her heart."
Working with Heughan, 43, was an amazing task, Chopra Jonas told HotGossipNewz, since "Sam brings charm that only Sam Heughan has."
"There's a reason why he has the following he does," she went on. "In this film, he's just so sweet, wonderful, and humorous. He adds the comic, and I bring the heart, but I think the two of us combined make for a really wonderful story."
For his part, Heughan told HotGossipNewz that he and Chopra Jonas "were very lucky" to work together.
"We were working during the pandemic, and we were all in the same bubble." "As a result, we got to hang out a lot," he explained. "When we went to her house with her family, we felt like we were a part of the extended family." So we consider ourselves quite fortunate to be working with her. She takes care of everyone."
When asked if he and Jonas had any time together, the Outlander star replied, "I think we stayed up very late some nights talking." "I'm probably talking nonsense and drinking good tequila."
He also revealed that the Love Again cast participated in "a lot of late-night karaoke," which "normally ended up with us singing Céline Dion."
Love Again will be released in theatres on Friday.
