Shannon Storms Beador’s Real Housewives of Orange County weren’t afraid to call out her alcohol intake just 10 days before she was arrested for a DUI.
The subject came up in the second and final part of the season 17 reunion on Wednesday when Heather DuBrow asked Shannon, 59, if she honestly believed that the former acted as if she had a “Machiavellian” disposition.
When Shannon said she did, Heather, 54, told her frankly, “Don’t get angry with me. You tend to drink and call some of us.”
“That’s a f — -ed up thing to say to me, but okay,” Shannon responded. However, Heather insisted, “It’s not. You’re the town crier!”
“Do I go out and drink sometimes?” Shannon rhetorically asked. “For you to say I need rehab, for you to paint a picture so that I’m calling people every single night…”
“For you to say I can breathalyze,” she said, addressing Emily Simpson, who interjected, “You should! I think it’s a good invention. I think you should put it on your phone.”
Directing her attention back to Heather, Shannon alleged, “You say it’s my truth serum when I haven’t had an intimate conversation.”
However, Gina Kirschenheiter said of Shannon’s relationship with alcohol, “You don’t want to look at that at all though, Shannon. You don’t want to look at it all.”
“You don’t know anything about my personal, in-depth life,” argued Shannon, who wanted to “reiterate [to] Gina, I don’t like you.”
Shannon then addressed the root of her problem with her 39-year-old costar: “From the beginning of you starting the show, you said in your first season when I was going through my acrimonious divorce, I masked with alcohol. And I said, ‘Did I drink more this season?’ Abso-freaking-lutely, I did.”
Gina defended herself by saying, “Our job is to say how we feel and say the truth about what’s going on.”
“You know what my job is? My job is to be Shannon Storms Beador, so I’m not gonna look at this and go, ‘Well, I’m on a reality show so I’m gonna act differently.’ I act the way I am,” she fired back.
Ten days after filming the reunion, Shannon was “arrested at 1:17 a.m. on Sept. 17 after fleeing the scene from a collision that caused property damage,” according to the Newport Beach Police Department.
The NBPD also confirmed that the reality star had been “booked for two misdemeanors — hit-and-run and DUI alcohol. She was released on a citation.”
According to the initial report by TMZ, Shannon was found walking her dog by police after she allegedly left her car in the middle of the road.
The day after her arrest, Shannon’s lawyer Michael L. Fell told in a statement that the Bravolebrity was “extremely apologetic” for her actions.
“I spent quite a bit of time with Shannon yesterday,” Fell said. “She is extremely apologetic and remorseful. We will be awaiting the official information on this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”
Elsewhere on Wednesday’s reunion, Shannon opened up about her tumultuous relationship with ex John Janssen.
“We argued because what would happen is he would leave and he would ghost me and I wouldn’t speak to him for days and it would be paralyzing to me because I have never been more in love with anyone in my life than I have with John Janssen. And he said I’m ready to take the next step with you,” Shannon tearily shared.
When host Andy Cohen asked why John would say he planned to end their relationship, Gina explained that “he was trying to get through filming so that he didn’t look bad.”
“He said it on camera and a week later he broke up with me,” Shannon revealed as she wiped her tears away with a tissue.
Later on, she said, “He broke my f — -ing heart, and can I look back at certain scenes and you can see that he’s checked out? Absolutely I can.”
She continued, “But I’m like, embarrassed. I feel like I’m a smart person that has a semi-decent head on their shoulder and it’s like, ‘My God, look at how he’s looking at you,’ or ‘Did you not see it then?’”
However, Andy brought up how Shannon had spent time together after they split, which prompted the women to urge her to “cut ties” with John. But she admitted to Andy, 55, that John is “sometimes” a friend with benefits.
Shannon exclusively told in January that she “was blindsided by the breakup.” The pair split after dating for three years when they met in 2019 through mutual friends. They had went public with their romance that July.
“All I can do is repeat in my head what he said to me while we were filming,” she said when asked to look back at what led to the split. “We were in a great place. But seven days later, when the cameras were down, it was a completely different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating.”
“I’ve never loved anyone more in my life,” Shannon said of John. “I was hopeful this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way.”
Season 17 of The Real Housewives of Orange County can be streamed in full on Peacock.
