"I don’t want people to mourn my brother," he expressed. "I want them to remember the genuine happiness and affection he infused into people’s lives. He had an authentic concern for others. Throughout his career, he reached out to thousands through calls, letters, and emails to offer assistance."
"So don’t be sorrowful. Celebrate his existence," Lenny continued.
Richard's demise stunned his friends and family, Lenny noted, adding that the television luminary — who had just celebrated his birthday the day before — was eagerly anticipating forthcoming projects.
"He was immensely thrilled about all the upcoming endeavors he was engaged in," Lenny shared, adding, "We are in utter disbelief. Please respect our family's privacy during this challenging period."
Tom Estey, Richard's long-term publicist, corroborated the news of Richard's passing on Saturday, following an initial report by TMZ. The outlet, citing law enforcement sources, mentioned that no foul play was suspected.

"The world has indeed lost an angel," Estey lamented.
Just days before his passing, Richard spoke about his plans for a modest celebration of his 76th birthday, opting for simplicity — and foregoing traditional cake.
"But the candle will probably be on a zucchini. You know, I'm a vegetarian," he quipped, adding that he might indulge in "maybe one Pepperidge Farm Milano cookie."
"I feel wonderful!" the late star exclaimed in another part of the interview. "I am thankful for another day of life. I'll spend my birthday as I do every day, dedicated to helping others."
Since 2014, Richard had largely retreated from public life and eventually shuttered his renowned Beverly Hills fitness studio, Slimmons, in November 2016.
