The 53-year-old artist was seen receiving CPR after collapsing on stage in front of his audience in Connecticut on August 30th.
Fatman Scoop, whose real name is Isaac Freeman III, was rushed to the hospital following a medical emergency during his performance. The incident occurred while he was on stage at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut, on the evening of Friday, August 30th, as confirmed by Mayor Lauren Garrett in a statement on Facebook.
"Tonight, while performing at Hamden Town Center Park, Isaac Freeman, also known as Fatman Scoop, experienced a medical emergency on stage," Garrett wrote regarding the artist's condition. "He is currently being transported by ambulance to the hospital. We will provide updates when they become available. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers."
Reports from TMZ indicate that authorities were called to the scene for a medical emergency at 8:33 p.m. on August 30th.
In footage shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Freeman can be seen shirtless as he moves from the front of the stage to a raised DJ booth at the back. With a microphone in hand, he called out, "I said, Hamden, make some noise!"
He stood beside the DJ, leaning forward on the booth, and continued to hype up the crowd: "Way down... If you came to party… make some noise…" Moments later, he appeared to lose his balance, bumping into the DJ before collapsing behind the booth.
Additional footage from the event, published by TMZ, shows what appears to be medics in high-visibility vests performing chest compressions on Freeman as he lay motionless, with concerned spectators watching in the background.
A voice from the crowd can be heard saying, "They are doing CPR."
Towards the end of the clip, more people are seen attending to Freeman as they appear to prepare him for transport from the stage, likely to the hospital. "Oh my god," an onlooker filming the scene exclaims.
